New Blog Look

I have been working on this blog all day!  Was worth it...  how does it look, do you like?

I have to admit, I am not great when it comes to posting.  I tend to focus on new products and customer orders and simply don't have time to find things to share that inspire me.  I usually feel that since I have nothing to say, maybe I it's best that I share nothing at all because there is nothing worse than an uninspired post, right?

Here's my idea...  I thought I could start sharing my projects, you know all those fantastic custom orders I work on.  I take a picture of every piece so why not share it with those that might be interested.  So as I finish up some orders, in the meantime here a clip from what I was watching this evening, Summer Magic. Don't you just love Burl Ives?!!!

My Inspiration ~ disneyland visits

Every time I go to Disneyland,
which is at least once a month,
I am always inspired!
So here are some of the photos
from my most recent trip that
hopefully can inspire you too

New shot of the castle that I got by sticking my hands thought the fence with the camera angled up

Did you know there are more then 20 mail boxes in Disneyland?
 My favorite shop on Main Street!

This was the first time I noticed this mural, beautiful.

 nice concrete imprint, I love it's simplicity

this was in one of the store windows, I so love it.

I'm loving bunting these days and found this in Critter Country

One of my favorites... I find Tim Burton very inspiring and look forward to this time of year

so love this boat

thought this was wonderful since I am clearly a lover of typography plus it's fun to read.

Farley the Fiddler

This is Farley the Fiddler, one of the long time performers at Disneyland.
Nick and I are regular watchers of Day at Disney.  It's a 45min. video... yes, VHS.
They don't make it on DVD so we keep a VCR just so we can watch this video.
It was made back in 1993 and they have yet to duplicated this amazing video.
You can find it on youtube here in 4 parts, it's a great watch for you true Disneyland fans.

So back to Farley...
On Thursday we were walking through Frontierland when Nick turned to me and said "I think that's the same guy from Day at Disney" so I decided we needed to ask him,
and as soon as Nick asked he started playing the song he played in the video
"Turkey in the Straw"
This was Nicks reaction when he started playing... it was awesome!

We helped him sing the song (not that he needed it) and then after, like he was a rockstar, we took a picture with him.

We go to Disneyland at least once a month so this was a wonderful surprise for us...
we both agreed it was better then World of Color, which was the reason we went this trip.

More to come about our trip soon,
I made some great purchases this time and I wanna share...

Celebrate - Another Disneyland Birthday

Nickolas and Me (Jenna)
in front of Sleeping Beauty's Castle, Disneyland CA

For the last 3 years I have spent my birthday at Disneyland.  As you might have already realized I am a huge Disney, specifically Disneyland fan.  I have loved it since I was a little girl and more than anyone I have ever met until I met Nickolas.  His love is as much as mine, if not more, but more importantly we love it for the same reasons.  We can sit on a bench in front of the castle for hours or ride Casey Jr. over and over because we love to see Storybookland.  We can spend the day looking for hidden mickeys or making sure we have all the newest smash coins.  We go because we love Disneyland not because it's an amusement park.

So here are some of the photos I took.  It was hot and crowded, so I didn't take as many as I usually do.  However, I did get some really great shots of the few I did take...

Starting with...
Once Upon a Time & happily ever after
which you can find as you enter and exit Disney Animation at California Adventure.

some the lovely favorite characters statues

wonderful store windows

beautiful Rivers of America (finally open again after months of renovations)

Sadly we will not be returning until at least September when all of the vacation crowds go home and it will be back to out annual pass crowd, I love them so much more!

but then again,
if I have withdrawals...
I might just have to deal with the summer again, hee hee
we'll see...

Halloween Time at Disneyland

So my favorite tine of year at Disneyland is Halloween Time.
~~~
They go all out and each year is better than the last.
and Nightmare Before Christmas taking over the Haunted Mansion is definitely my favorite ride at the park and I wish they would leave it up all year round, I anxiously wait for the end of September so I can finally see Jack again. The ride is so amazingly done!
Wish I could give you pictures of the inside but they never turn out.
summer magic
My recent trip to Disneyland reminded me that I've been wanting to see the movie Summer Magic. They play music in various areas of the park, Nick loves hearing the Blazing Saddle theme song in Frontierland and with me it's Main Steet with the songs from the movie Summer Magic (1963). Every time I go, I am reminded about that movie which is still only a VHS option. I loved watching that movie as a kid along with all the Hayley Mills movies which were classics then and played often on the Disney Channel. I love all the music from the movie, but "Beautiful Beulah" and "Summer Magic" are the two songs they play from the movie as you walk down Main Street.
There's other great songs in the movie like, "Femininity" which I've shared with you below.
